I think J.Timothy's proved to be a success in the way of coordinating the schedules of eight very busy people. Everyone was there: Dad, Mom, D, Micah, Ry, Yana, Nick, Kristina, and me. They did end up letting us have the room downstairs with the fireplace and we had it all to ourselves (which M loved because he got to visit every table and sit in the seats like a big boy...). We ate and talked and talked and ate until it was more than time to go. D and I had everyone back to our house for dessert. I made Lava Cakes from scratch since I knew Mom (and many others!) were big fans of them. They were so rich that I could only finish a little more than half of mine. Oh so yummy! Here is the YouTube video recipe I used to make these creations: Lava Cakes.
We've been keeping really busy, especially with all the coverage of the Olympics. D has been a good sport (ha, pun not intended) and has been watching the primetime coverage with me until he can't bear it anymore. At which point he turns to his computer for rescuing. He's also in the midst of those 12-hour work days which he has to do two or three times a week. Not fun, but not as bad as overnight calls!! M has been recovering from his bad cough for awhile now. D thinks he probably had bronchitis and it wouldn't surprise me. His sleeping was thrown off for a good week, poor guy, but now we're back on schedule and enjoying it. He's doing really well with his one three-(sometimes four!)-hour nap.
M is fascinated with glasses; Grammy and Grampa's, mine and D's, his aunties'. Small problem, though: he's not allowed to touch them. So D solved that problem and picked up two pairs for him at the dollar store. He loves them and wears them quite well :) I told him with his genes, he just might get his wish in the not too distant future...
D surprised me with a huge bunch of red tulips and my favorite dessert of dark chocolate covered almonds a few days before Valentine's Day. He said they were mostly because he missed me that week (he had worked three twelve-hour day), but it was convenient that Valentine's Day was just around the corner. He's wonderful. I made him some heart-shaped brownies and gave him a half an hour massage for his VDay gifts. Even better is that I feel loved every day, not just on Valentine's Day :).
Saturday was National Pretzel Day at Auntie Anne's, so we each got a pretzel at the mall for lunch. M ate all of his, except the two bites I took. I was kind of hoping I'd get half of his, too, but I should have known! Our little man was multitasking at the mall: eating and flirting. He flirts like an expert and I'm not sure why he knows how to do it so well, but I'm keeping a closer eye on him these days. It doesn't help that e.v.e.r.y.o.n.e. tell him how cute and handsome he is. It's going straight to his head...but that's what I'm here for :). Schmoozing does not work on me, though he has tried numerous times! He's such a ham...

We've been watching the Olympics as well. Josh loves the curling, and I like the figure skating. Though the skiing, speed skating and snowboarding has held our attention on more than one occasion.
No offence, be because those glasses look like they are taped in the middle, Micah looks like a mini-nerd :) But a cute one, of course :)

Looks like a great time @ your parents 30th anniversary party! I forgot all about the free pretzels @ Auntie Anne's!
:( Micah's too cut in those glasses! We enjoyed ourselves immensely this evening when you had us over for our 35th anniversary dinner! Thanks so much!
