So rewinding back to last weekend. We had visitors!! D's parents and his brother Peter came down later Friday night and stayed with us until early Sunday morning. We crammed so much into this small amount of time. After settling in Friday night and hooking up the Wii, we all tried to get to sleep at a decent time because we were going to be up early the next morning. Dad and Mom treated us to breakfast at Perkins in Lancaster. Which means we left our apartment by 8:45am to make it there by 10:15am so we could then make it to Sight & Sound Theater's IN THE BEGINNING production by its noon showtime.
What an amazing performance, like I expected anything else. I love these productions because they make you think. And it's biblically-based entertainment, which is hard to find nowadays. D and I have been reading through Genesis and it's really interesting all the information that is in there and all the information that the Lord saw fit not to put in there. It was the third show we've seen there, the first two were, respectively: Behold the Lamb and Ruth. Here are a few snapshots of our time there...
After the show, we went to visit a couple from our church in CT who had moved near Lancaster a few years ago. By then we, as in the girls, were famished and couldn't wait to get back to our area to have dinner. D used his exceptional information directory skills to find the closest Olive Garden. However, upon arrival, we learned it was a one hour wait and that would certainly not do. Across the way was a Macaroni Grill and it had a zero minute wait, which we promptly agreed was a good deal. I hadn't been to a MG in forever, that was the hangout of choice towards the end of high school.
Dinner was very yummy. They even had paper and crayons at the table, which Peter put to good use. See:
We headed back to our apartment and I crashed. It's hard to keep up with D's parents!! They left early the next morning to get home for Mother's Day dinner with D's sister and her family, but it was nice to visit with them while they were here! We're always so busy when we're in CT, it was fun having time just with them.
Not that I'm counting down or anything, but we'll be in CT in 8 days. Thankfully David was able to get the entire weekend, plus Memorial Day, off from his OB/GYN rotation. And just because I'm (not) counting down, I am prepared to have the slowest week ever next week...but that's okay...next week is also when my Portfolio is due!

You can tire me out just from READING about your weekend, Jess! I guess I don't actually have to have you here to have your wear me out! Sounds like a fun time. I have never even been to a Macaroni Grill, though I know you often went in your younger years. Love, Mom F (see you in 8 days, not that I am counting. I have boosted by vitamin intake to prepare for your visit!)

I must give credit where credit is due. My "exceptional information directory skills" were made possible by a new service in experimental testing by Google. 1-800-GOOG-411 is a free directory assistance. It is as accurate as Google local search and it will connect you to the number for free!! Thanks Google.

::looks up:: What, is Dave getting paid to promote Google or something? ;)
Glad you guys had such a fun weekend--we will see you next weekend! :)

Glad you guys had an awesomely fun weekend with Dave's parents!
We'd love to see another show in Lancaster. We've only seen together "Behold the Lamb". Steve saw alot of the other ones as a teenager with his family.
Have fun in CT! It's awesome that Dave got the weekend off!

That would be a neat show to see. I've seen some of the other ones, and they are all very well-done (not like beef, but like a performance) :).
Enjoyed the pictures too. If I was at MG with you guys, I would have been using the crayons like Pete was :)
