It shouldn't be funny...

Our pastor preached about Career and Vocation as part of a series on Forming a Biblical Self-Image. I thoroughly enjoy his insights and his teaching style and how he makes the Bible so interesting and applicable. He also possesses a great sense of humor and infuses it into his messages. Like today, for example, he was talking about the Sluggard mentioned in Proverbs and how many of them exist in the workforce...their motto being, "It's not my job." Well look closely at this picture and you will see the winner of the It's Not My Job Award.

The pastor made another good point: This worker's laziness is there for at least the next 20 years for all to see!

Ha, that is a great picture! It reminds me of this commercial I once saw... a person sees a piece of trash on the ground, right next to a trash can, and he makes a comment to the person next to him about how sad that is, that someone would litter when there's a trash can right there. More people join the conversation until there's a whole group of them, staring at the piece of trash, lamenting the laziness of others. Then a guy with headphones approaches, reaches down to grab the piece of trash and chucks it in the can, leaving the group speechless. I thought it was so funny, because it's so true--so many people would rather complain about a situation than do anything about it.

See you guys next weekend! :)

I've never seen a picture like that before--how dumb was that person, huh? :)

Good pic, Jess! So many people are exactly like your pastor said. I've actually seen the commercial that Sara mentioned. People always have plenty to say, but little action behind it.
