Weekend Happenings

Well we checked a few items off of our (my) Summer To-Do list. We saw Bourne Ultimatum and D is handing in all his yearbook stuff today. I like the page layout. It was supposed to have 4 pictures, plus his professional picture, his signature swatch, and a text box. But I cut it down to 3 pictures because the last two would have been so small I don't know if you could really tell what they were. However, I can't take full credit for the idea. I had all the yearbook stuff spread out on the coffee table when Sara and Ron came over Friday night. I was discussing my dilemma with Sara and she suggested having three instead of 4. It was a Duh Moment. These are the pictures we chose:

D's White Coat Ceremony in October of 2004, when we just moved down here. Now that white coat has been used countless times...and he even got another one for Christmas from my parents.

This picture was taken in the Italian section of Philly, very near where my grandma grew up. Termini Pastries is a very well-known little store, both in and out of the Philly area. We bought some stuff there that day and couldn't leave without a picture!

The one that didn't make the cut:

Do you see D on the big screen to the far left? Well you wouldn't have if it was shrunken down to 2" x 3", which is why it didn't make the cut.

We wanted to make sure our family, as well as different Philadelphia hot spots, were included in the pictures, so I think we pretty much succeeded. D's text he wrote for the text box is really cute, but I won't give that away just yet.

And Bourne Ultimatum (A++). I'm only sorry we didn't rent one and two before going to see three. I have a mish mash of movies in my mind and don't quite remember the exact plot of the previous two, but the third one was incredible. We LOVED it and I think I'll be getting one and two at some point this week/end so we can see those.

All in all it was a great weekend because it went by at exactly the right pace. D also started to fill out his Residency Application that can be submitted as early as September 1st. I told him to blog about the process, but he informs me he doesn't have the time. I'll get a list of all the places that he's applying to and post them here...when he has the time to give it to me ;). It's a really exciting time and I'm trying to enjoy it without trying to just get past it so we can move on with real life.

I love the pictures you chose, and the reasons you chose them. The first pic makes me smile because you can tell it was taken by someone reallllly tall. :) Can't wait to see his yearbook--because now I'm all curious what he wrote in his text box. When does he get it?

We saw Bourne Ultimatum on Sat. night--I decided last minute that I wanted to join the boys, and Mom and Dad were gracious enough to agree to some last-minute babysitting. It was a good movie! I'd seen the first 2, but didn't remember them all that well. Like when they first talked about his girlfriend being dead, I thought maybe that was something that happened in betw. movies 2 and 3, but then when he started having flashbacks about how she died, I suddenly remembered those scenes. And how about those fight scenes, huh? The one where Bourne and that other assassin were fighting--man, I thought it was never going to end! :)

Great choice of pics you guys! They definitely show off you both and Philly all in one! When does he get his yearbook? Hopefully before Christmas! lol

We saw Borne Ultimatum on Saturday afternoon. The theater was packed. We'd seen the 2 previous movies and still remembered the details. I think this was the most action-packed movie of the 3. We definitely like it!

Awww Dave's so sweet to share his page with us! Now I can't wait to get my copy! You will remember to order me one, right? You are so clever to practice blooming where you are planted! I like how you find good in every circumstance! Reminds me of your Mom, Jess! Keep up the good work of "being there" for Dave!

Excellent picture selections. Knowing how many pics you two take, I can only imagine the time and effort put into whittling it down to the 3! My sweet child, you ARE in real life, so enjoy it now, as you are learning to do. You and Dave continue to be a blessing to us every day and make us proud in so many ways. Love, Mom F
