Our Baby Boy

Micah: Who is like God; Gift from God. Micah is a prophet in the Bible. Even though judgment is a big theme in his book, Micah also offered words of hope that gave the people of Jerusalem encouragement to live as God's people in a darkened world.

Andrew: Manly; brave. In the Bible the first of the twelve apostles chosen was Andrew. The name comes from the Greek word andros, meaning strong, manly, and courageous.

Micah 6:8
He has shown you, O man, what is good;
And what does the LORD require of you
But to do justly,
To love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God?

Just a bit about the names we selected for our baby boy. The verse is what our parents (and us!) are praying for Micah as he grows in this world and, Lord willing, in Christ.

More to come...

    Could there possibly be a more beautiful baby in this world?! I think not. We shall pray that Micah grows into the meaning of both his names. Love Mom F

    That is such a cute picture! When we were picking out Matthew's name, I believe both Micah and Andrew were on our list. An interesting thing about Andrew that I heard a pastor preach on once. Whenever he's in the Bible, he's always bringing someone to the Lord. Neat, huh? :) Give Micah a big kiss for us! Or we can just do it ourselves in November ;)

    I love the name you picked out for Micah. Love the pic! Micah was one of the names on our list before we found out that we were having a girl. The verse you are praying for Micah is perfect.
