Much to be Thankful For...

I figured I should get my Thanksgiving post up before Christmas, and since Christmas is this week, here it goes!

2008 has been everything we hoped and prayed it would be....and the busy year we knew it would be. This time last year, we didn't know what state we'd be living in, if we would be living in our own home or another apartment, didn't know we'd be having a baby boy, and didn't know if D would be a Radiologist. Now, one short year later, we are living in our own home (close to our parents and D's work) with a beautiful, healthy baby and feeling like this is how life has always been. Quite obviously, our little family has so much to be thankful to the Lord for and not a day goes by that I say thank you to Him.

We started off the day at David's parents' house where all Micah's aunts and uncles and cousins were gathered for the festivities. Gramma got all her grandkids some goodies, so Daddy helped Micah open his. Thank you, Gramma, I've already played with my cars a few times!

Chaos that was also known as the Cousin Photo Shoot. All things considered, it went really well. The kids warmed up to the idea ever-so-briefly before it was really o.v.e.r.

David's sister and brother from out of town were celebrating Christmas early, so Micah got in on the action...

David with our nephew Matthew. We got to meet him for the first time!

Early evening, we went over to my parents' house where extended family was waiting to meet Micah for the first time. He was asleep during his grand entrance, but he didn't stay asleep long with all the baby vultures, I mean aunties and great aunties around. He did really well during all the passing around and kiss attacks he received. He didn't really need this bib, but Mom got it for him while I was still pregnant, so we had to take a picture of him in it. Now, though, he needs it. He's such a drool face!

Before they left, we had Steve, Eden, and Lyvi back over (we had all D's family over for dessert one evening before Thanksgiving) for dinner. Micah enjoyed being held by his Auntie Eden, she knew the key: holding him out. He was watching everything that was going on, including Frosty the Snowman on TV! He's way too nosy and too smart for his own good!

Thanksgiving 2008, our first as a family of three, was very memorable!

I like how you put that: kiss attacks. That's really how it is sometimes for little babies.

Ah, I like his little bib. So the drooling has begun, huh? It only gets worse, so have fun :)

My favorite part of Thanksgiving was having almost all my children & their spouses & all my grandchildren together @ one time. My close second favorite was the photo shoot! It was very amusing to say the least! What precious memories!

Family is nothing to take for granted. Especially such a large extended one on both sides. The Lord has been very gracious this year, as He has always been. So much to be thankful for. Mom F

Alot has happened in your lives this past year and it's awesome to see how God's hand has been your lives!

    His little bib is adorable!

Kiss attacks on babies are tons of fun!

I'm so glad we had the opportunity/time to come to CT for Thanksgiving and meet sweet Micah. I loved holding him! He reminds me so much of Olyvia when she was his age. She always wanted to be held out so she could see what was happening! lol

    Love you guys!!

ps... I guess I need to get on the ball here and try to post about Thanksgiving. lol
