All About Micah

Micah's been up to a lot lately. So I thought I'd share. Some of his new "things" are stacking cans, helping in the kitchen, turning on the TV and DVD player (to watch Baby Einstein), pointing out his head/hair, eyes, ears, mouth, teeth, throat, belly/belly button, and knees, swaying so we'll sing to him, reading his Bible (after singing the B-I-B-L-E song fifty million times), making a noise to make us laugh, and tons of other little actions, reactions, gestures that he does throughout the day to communicate and interact with his little world. I'm loving this age! Since I should be party planning, compiling my Thanksgiving food shopping list, packaging books to send out, and the many other things on my To Do list, I'll post some pictures instead of narrating!

Micah likes anything that's not a toy, including big boxes (with Daddy inside them!). They'll hold his interest for a while, until some other non-toy item catches his eye. We aren't going to be buying him anything for Christmas again this year, but somehow I don't think he'd notice if we did...

He is SUCH a little ham...

Uncle RyRy, Grammy, and Grandpa were in the hot tub. And Micah wanted in in the worst way. This is a new thing: holding his arms out to be picked up.

Helping Grandpa...always with Grandpa...

I found a new way to feed M: using an egg carton. Each little section holds bite-sized pieces and he has fun picking the food out. The bowl wasn't working so well because he would end up dumping it all out because he couldn't see what was in it. And he'd shove the equivalent of five mouthfuls in his mouth because that's what his meaty little hands can grab. Anyway, it's working out really well. And for those of you worried about salmonella, don't be!

I think it's funny how some of your pictures of Micah are blurry. Just shows how much and how fast he gets around :)

Egg carton...very creative. Matthew would stuff his face with too much food, and he still does it occassionally. We kept telling him over and over to take "one bite at a time," and finally it made sense to him. And he's hold up one finger to show that he was getting our vibe.

Matthew holds his arms out like that too. It was so sweet the first time he did it, cause you can't resist and just have to pick them up :)
