Moving On

Hope everyone enjoyed their FREE Rita's water ice today!! I did. Actually we did, as in all my kindergarteners. We braved the cold weather and wind to stand in line and get our ice. Somehow it doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but free is free. I guess Dunkin' Donuts was giving away free iced coffee today, too. D didn't take them up on that offer either (he didn't want Rita's!!) because he said it didn't feel like Spring. He's right, but free is free. I got a pina colada flavored water ice. They have some new flavors this year, too, like Root Beer and Island something or other. The kids got: Blueberry, Green Apple, Vanilla, Cookies 'n' Cream, Lemonade, Kiwi Strawberry, and Cherry. I thought it was a pretty good variety for five-year-olds who are usually very plain (boring) in their tastes. We only had two droppings of the water ice, one was salvageable and the other happened when we were still at the window so we were able to get another one. I don't remember when I've gotten so many hugs and kisses and "You're the best teacher EVER!"s...I'd like to think it was just a coincidence...

Footnote: David decided that he DID want Rita's at about 8:15pm. We made the three minute ride and stood in line with other crazy people who were shivering and jumping up and down trying to stay warm while waiting for their water ices. He got the pina colada flavor, too, and I got a second free water ice, Root Beer. I ate some, which was very good, and put the rest in the freezer. I guess there is such thing as too much Rita's in one day!
