Green Thumb

Not to brag, but the two pieces of plant life in our apartment are still alive. After a few weeks and more of living with us. That has got to be some sort of record:

This thing is not stopping.

I had given up hope that we'd ever see any more Gerber daises sprouting from this pot. Then, randomly, one day earlier this week I saw a little sprout with bright red petals. I'm not exactly sure if these leaves are weeds or are supposed to be there. There didn't used to be this many of them. I might try my hand at pruning.

If you look closely, you can see the stems for the other two daises that once were. I kept watering it in hopes that something other than those leaves would grow. Not exactly sure how it'll do while we're gone for over a week...

Now I have high hopes for the future garden I have always wanted to create. You know, home-grown tomatoes, cucumbers, basil, cilantro, and green peppers...hope I'm not getting too ahead of myself.

Good job, Jess! I'm no good with plants--I kill them pretty quickly, even the kind that are supposed to be all tough and resistant to people like me, lol.

The Gerber daisy one cracks me up--all those giant leaves, and then this teeny, tiny nothing of a flower. :)

    See you guys soon!

I seriously do NOT have a green thumb. Plant-life does not live very long in our home. lol Somehow, I always managed to kill everything off. lol

Hmm...it would be so cool to grow u'r own veggie/herbal garden! Be sure to send me some GREEN tomatoes. I love fried green tomatoes on occasion.
