Mom went to David's Bridal yesterday and asked about their exchange policy since it was quite obvious that I wouldn't be fitting into the dress I had for Nick and Kristina's wedding. And she was greeted with good news: Sure I could exchange the unaltered dress! Cool. Well there are a few options that I had to choose from when we went into the store tonight. First thing to try on will be the six-month baby belly David's Bridal has on hand! I just find that so funny...a strap-on baby belly at David's Bridal! Anyway, it's a good idea and I put it to good use:
This is the dress I currently have for the wedding. I tried it on in sizes 6 and 8 and the 8 felt more comfortable with the belly. However, it still stretched tight over those love handles in back and across the buttocks, so I'm not sure how well it's going to work. I'll be more than 6 months along by wedding time and my belly won't be as forgiving (squishy!!!) as that fabulous pretend belly. The lady who was helping me had a good idea: come back in 2 months to see where I'm gaining the weight and to see if there are any more dress options at that point.
So, one less thing to think about at this point...at least for another few months!
P.S. Happy 28th Anniversary, Dad and Mom!!

Aww, look at you with your little belly! :) I never would have thought David's Bridal would have a fake belly. They have that at maternity clothing stores, which makes sense of course, but David's Bridal? Who knew?
Yeh, there's no good way to guess at this point. But if you go with the bigger size (maybe even... *gasp*... a 10!), you can always take it in.
Well, I guess this is just one more motivation to keep eating healthy, huh? ;)

Who cute are you all pregnant looking and everything?! We are going to be disappointed when you visit in March to see you looking un-pregnant! Love Mom F

I knew maternity stores had those, but I didn't know that DB would have them. That's totally cool!
Can't wait to see you actually being 6 months along on your blog. You're going to have such a cute preggie body!
Happy Anniversary to your parents from us!

Happy Anniversary to Don & Kathy! I didn't realize their anniversary was so close to ours! First of all you look adoreable with that fake pregnant belly on! I like Sara's suggestion of a size 10 that you can take in if need be! Sounds like a plan!

Yeah, the hard thing about those fake bellies is that they squish down, so you can't tell if you won't be able to zip up your dress or not. And at 6 months, you could be bigger than that or smaller than that, you never know. That's a good idea to come back in two months, but you might not have gained any weight by then either. Oh well, just trial and error I guess. At least you haven't had it altered yet, so if you need a different size, you still have that option. It's an interesting dilemma you have. Good luck!!
