My Herb Garden

I got around to planting my herb garden last weekend and it was quite easy...after reading all the directions:

These are soil pellets. An ingenious idea because they keep the soil contained, which makes for a tidy planting experience!

You just soak the pellets in warm water until they grow about an inch...

Then I secured the water-soaked pellets in the bottom of this mini greenhouse thingy...

You have to put the seeds in the middle of soil pellet, so that's what I'm doing...

And very soon, we will have fresh Cilantro, Basil, Chives, and Parsley to eat! The nice thing about this herb garden: I have to keep it in a warm place for 3 weeks without having to water it (I'm so bad about that!)...and then it says to move it to a sunny place and water it as needed.

What a cool little garden! I'm bad with plants, too, but this sounds like the kind of garden I could get the hang of. Of course, then I'd actually have to find a use for the herbs. ;)

What a neat idea! Are you gonna post pics of the garden as it grows? I'd like to see the progression.

I like your herb garden. I know someone who planted a salsa garden, so they basically planted all the ingredients they'd need for salsa, including the peppers. it's a pretty cool idea, but I've never been a plant person. Maybe someday :)

You and Dave are such good eaters that I know the herb garden will come in handy. Maybe I should try one, though the watering the plant thing seems to escape me most of the time. Love Mom F

As a teenager I had my own little garden and had a green thumb, but since going to college, I haven't been able to keep anything alive. lol Don't know what my problem is, although, I think it has to do with not having a yard or a place to put anything. lol That's what I get for moving 4 times in 4 years of marriage. You know what? Being in CA will be the longest place we have been since being married. We have started considering CA home, when we've never considered the other states we've lived in home. It will be so hard to move away. :-( I think this will be the first place I cry about leaving...anyway, I simply won't think about it.

I love your little garden and I've thought many times of starting an herb garden. Hope you post pics of your little herbs growth process.
