I know we did some more things during our two-week stint in CT, but at this point I can't remember and I really don't want to drag vacation posts on much longer. So, I'll round them out with our New Year's Eve/Day happenings.
Mom and I were at iParty looking for something for one of the weddings when we stumbled onto half-off Christmas items and a cool New Year's Eve party-in-a-box thing. So she bought it and invited G&G over along with Ryan and Yana (Nick and Kristina had plans with some friends). The four couples had such a fun evening together eating the pot roast and lemon cake, drinking tea, and of course talking, laughing, and joking around. Mom took our pictures in front the "Happy New Year" sign, which you can't really see, but that's what it says:
We all had party hats, leis, noisemakers, and strings of confetti (to toss at the appropriate time, although no one waited until the appropriate time). All of us were being silly and there's Dave...eating! :)
The next day there was a pretty nasty snow spell that made it difficult to go across town to D's parents house for a very yummy New Year's Day dinner. But we made it and the snow was pretty to look at, just not to drive in:
D had an interview the day after New Year's (aka Mom's bday). We left that evening and made it back here in our usual four hours, thus concluding our two week vacation! It was nice only having to work for two days before the weekend, but then D left again that Sunday for four more interviews. He's back, 800 miles later, and doesn't have to leave again until the end of January for the last of his interviews!

I like Dave's sweater in the pictures :).
Josh and I didn't go crazy for New Year's. We watched Smallville episodes and cleaned up around the apartment until it was time to watch it drop. Both of us at different points in the night were ready to call it quits and go to bed early, but we managed to stay up til 12. We're not night owls, by the way :)
I'm glad Dave's home with you for most of January. It's no fun when the husband is away :(. Josh's boss has him go on business trips, but for the next several months I am his new boss, and I say he's not allowed to travel :) At work they wanted him to go to Mexico in the beginning of March, which is still several weeks away from the baby, but what if I go early? So Josh said I can just say the word, and he can tell his boss that I have spoken, and that's that. I love having a little power ;)

Why am I not at all surprised that you fell asleep before midnight? ;) At least they woke you up to watch the ball drop. We hung out with friend on NYE, and we only turned on the TV at about 2 minutes till midnight, because, hey, it's not NYE if you don't watch the ball drop. :)
