On the Friday before New Year's, I offered to watch my niece Ariana so her mom, her aunt, and her grandma could go on a shopping spree at the local mall...and so I could play with her because she is just so much fun to be around :)! She was such a good girl and interacted so nicely with everyone at my house. We ventured outside for a bit and she seemed to enjoy that. Towards the end of our time together, she even took a two-hour nap, during which I laid down, too because little people are good at wearing out big people!
Eating breakfast/playing
She loved this one ornament from our tree, so of course someone took it down and gave it to her...
Since Ari has two dogs of her own at home, Cody's presence didn't bother her in the least. However, Ari's presence bothered Cody greatly...he was none-too-pleased with the attention she was directing away from him!
Ari was fascinated with the piano at D's parents' house, and when she saw this piano ornament, she proceeded to press the keys. She was slightly puzzled when nothing happened.
Her daddy would have been proud of her, she LOVED these Wii remotes. Ryan was having a slight heart attack, but he was nice and let her play with them.
Ari liked playing this piano, too, and I guess so did Uncle Dave!
That night, D and I gathered up all the ingredients for a chicken parm meal, complete with salad and garlic bread, and headed over to my grandparents' house. We wanted to make them dinner as part of our Christmas gift to them, so that's what we did! Everyone seemed to like the meal and there was plenty of leftovers that G&G told me they had for days afterwards! They are two of the sweetest people I know and I so enjoyed visiting with them at their house. That house holds many great memories and this was just another one to add to the list. After dinner, Gpa scrounged around and found his old yearbook from his USS Oriskany days and showed D and me what life was like on the boat. Then we all watched the DVD we gave him for Christmas, the one about the Oriskany being made into man-made reef off the coast of Florida. Gpa visited it while it was being dismantled in Corpus Christi (I'm assuming around the same time they were taping the show) and while he was sad to see it in such a state, he told us a lot about the ship. Overall it was a great night and one that I'm sure we will soon repeat.
Aren't they cute?!

Ari is such a sweet little girl! We really enjoyed getting to spend time with her and watching the cousins play together.
Your grandparents are very cute!

I like how you captioned the first pic with the words "eating" and "playing"--seems like those 2 words are pretty much synonymous. ;)
She loves remotes, period, and I'm sure she'd play with Tony's Wii remotes too, if he'd let her. We have this one remote that's really skinny--it fits in her hand perfectly--and she loves to carry that one around.
It looks like she had a great time hanging out at your house, and made herself right at home. Thanks again so much for watching her! I know she loves her Auntie Jess.
Mmm chicken parm--that was nice of you to cook for your grandparents. It sounds like that DVD was a big hit--what a good idea you had. :)

That's so funny about the piano ornament, that she expected it to make noise :)

Very, VERY nice having a baby in the house. Sara, you ARE family and we always enjoy when you all can be with us. My parents are exactly the type of grandparent I want to be. As far as she and Dave playing the piano together, sad thing is they played much better than I do, even after 2 years of lessons....:( Love Mom F
