Spares...Strikes...and none of them mine!

Dave and I left at 4:30am on Friday morning for our four-day weekend in Connecticut. Can I tell you how much I love leaving that early? Even after making a few stops, we arrived at 8:15am! When we get there, I like to hit the ground running. I figure I only have a limited amount of time to enjoy my freedom and I don't want to waste a minute. Dad took Ry and I out to breakfast (because Dave was snoozing!), talk about a great way to start a vacation. From there, it was one fun thing after another...well for me at least. David spent a good amount of time having fun with his med school study books. But Saturday night he did decide to make an appearance and we whisked him away to the bowling alley. It was one of those random, can't-plan-it-but-will-never-forget-it type of nights. It started off with us making plans with Ryan and Yana. After throwing out some ideas, someone mentioned bowling. I admit, it did take some warming up to the idea, but everyone commented on how they haven't been bowling in a while. So bowling it was.But don't let the fun stop there with the four of us because I guess bowling is so popular that it can even lure my parents out, yes, I did say OUT, of the house, when they found out we were going. So we all piled into my dad's car, three in the front, three in the back, and we were off to the bowling alley. It had to have been the shoes, that's the only really good explanation for it. I really, really stunk at bowling. And I used to like bowling and I could at least break 100. Not that night. 76. Granted, it was only one less point than Yana and Mom was still in the 60's but still, I thought I had it in me. Ryan and Dave were really good, which I guess is good for their ego, they being male and all. The first game done, Dave, Ryan, and Yana decided to bowl a second. I decided to sit out because, well, I didn't want to break a nail...That game was just as fun to watch as the first one had been to play. Yana recooped from her previous loss just fine with THREE strikes in a row for the first three frames. No one could believe it, least of all Ryan who had won the first game by a hefty margin. She also managed to get a few spares in there and win the game to the amazement of her opponents. Dad asked for a print out of the scores...just in case no one believed what really went on there that night. Posted by Picasa
